Chu-Tse Wu, the academician of the Chinese academy of sciences, a doctoral tutor, successively served as the director of the key laboratory of military hematology, vice President and President of the Chinese academy of military medical sciences. He has been working on stem cells research for years, known as the "father of Chinese stem cells".

In 2000, he was awarded the "generation famous teacher" by the general logistics department. On November 30, 2015, approved by the international asteroid naming committee, the asteroid 207809 discovered by the purple mountain observatory of the Chinese academy of sciences was named "Wu Chu-Tse star".
